"I was inspired to write this poem after seeing a clear picture in my mind of a lonely figure walking over barren hills under a grey sky. Because of some tough challenges in my life there have been times when I haven't had the energy to be joyful about life or God, or even to pray. But I have realized that God is not afraid of sorrow and He is very near to the broken."
