Believer, Interrupted.

"I have possibly never felt more free than when I started to believe that what is more important to God than the fact that I have willfully done something I believe is wrong(sinned), again, is the fact that I get up, dust myself off and keep moving forward, looking to Jesus for strength to be like Him."

Poem for the Unloved Wife

"I've never been married and I've only ever been loved well by the important men in my life, so this poem is not written from personal experience. One night I had a very vivid dream of being married to a man who seemed to detest me. I couldn't do anything to please him and I felt fear to my core. When I woke up I chose to use the feelings I experienced in the dream to appeal to women who may, sadly, feel this way every day. I believe Christ can, in the secret space of the heart and mind, show us  a pure and transcending love, no matter what our circumstances are."

Poem for the Judged

"I think of God as the great 'un-doer'. He often un-does my anger and indignation by showing me my harsh thoughts in comparison to His goodness. Amazingly, His 'un-doing' work helps me to forgive people and to deal with problems more calmly and objectively."

Poem for the Deeply Wounded

"I was inspired to write this poem after seeing a clear picture in my mind of a lonely figure walking over barren hills under a grey sky. Because of some tough challenges in my life there have been times when I haven't had the energy to be joyful about life or God, or even to pray. But I have realized that God is not afraid of sorrow and He is very near to the broken."
